Trekkies have been doing it for years in the privacy of their own homes (I assume), but this weekend Floris Schönfeld launched the world’s first opera sung entirely in Klingon. “U” (Klingon for “universal”), follows Kahless The Unforgettable who seeks to restore his family honour after his brother kills their father. Schönfeld has supposedly sent a message and an invitation out to the Klingon home planet, Qo’noS, and hopes to hear something back from them 35 years from now.
