
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Google is the future! (Well, except for that Google Wave nonsense, anyway.) This year they launched a really interesting app for Android phones called Google Goggles. The idea is that you can use the phone’s camera to take a picture of anything around you, and it will instantly figure out what the object is and return pertinent information to you.
It may seem like a simple thing, just cutting out the extra step of typing something into their search engine, but in a lot of cases it helps you identify something if you don’t know what it’s called and it can instantly translate foreign languages as well. The way I see it, this means humans are now one step away from having an active heads-up display just like the Terminator. Which is awesome. It’s only available for Android phones right now (for free), but an iPhone version is currently on the way. Watch this video for more info.
