Still believe that Twitter could start to annoy people if it doesn't evolve quickly and keep up with the spammers. This is the biggest problem not to mention people claiming to be other people and twittering as them. We all know every blog is not always written by it's owner but that's different altogether.

I hardly ever frequent a blog even if I like the subsequent podcast and people, but I always keep up with Film Junk. Not sure why. Its just about the perfect amount of content though. Every day I can check it and see a handful of new posts, but not so much that I'm overwhelmed.

I only use twitter to promote my blog...there's plenty of people that need to read something a bit more "solid" out there.

P.S I feel there's only one other film podcast that matches yours out there. your sites well made as well. you can't take that away from people!

I seriously dont see Twitter lasting. It seems like a Friendsterish fad and way too many people absolutely loathe it for it to remain fashionable.

I think Twitter is here to stay whether people like it or not. It's just another form of communication like e-mail and instant messaging.

If Film Junk went away I think we would keep doing the podcasts, or at least that's how I see it. But we'll see what happens.

I almost had a similar situation. When I created a Twitter account, it was supposed to act as a sort of mini-update for my personal blog because I like to write long - which is something I can't do on a daily basis - and the sidebar tweets let people know that I wasn't dead or something. Pretty soon, I got into the habit of char counts instead of word counts. And now I'm slowly and painfully starting to get into the habit of keeping both updates consistent with another.

Twitter needs to die, and soon. Luckily, celebrities are bursting the Twitter bubble nicely.

Throwing away a blog for Twitter is about as short sighted as dumping Lost for Heroes. :P

What FilmJunk has that makes it special, is the unique podcast that you guys run, not the updating news part. The FilmJunk and Cantankerous podcasts are two of the best things on the net, it would be a shame to lose them, especially if the idea of quitting came from you Sean, you're the core of it all. You make things run smoothly, while at time a bit dry, you are what hold things together and we've got the 3 other guys for comic relief! ;-)
