Apparently the Fairview Cinemas in St. Catharines are on the verge of shutting down, and being that they are the only place in the area that occasionally shows indie films, it makes me appreciate the Brock University Film Society that much more.
Here’s the preliminary schedule for winter 2007 screenings:
Jan. 7th - The Journals of Knud Rasmussen
Jan. 14th - Volver
Jan. 21st - Death of a President
Jan. 28th - Infamous
Feb. 4th - Shut Up & Sing
6 more movies are still TBA.
I didn’t see Journals of Knud Rasmussen… It wasn’t very well reviewed, and I’m not a big fan of eskimos… I guess Volver is a good movie if you love Almodovar. I don’t, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
